Background:
Soft POS (Software Point of Sale) is a cutting-edge technology that revolutionizes the way merchants accept card payments. With SoftPOS, merchants can accept card payments directly on their phone or device without any additional software. SoftPOS was soft launched in the Saudi market in the first quarter of 2021. However, the lack of awareness has led to low adoption rates of SoftPOS. To address this issue, Saudi Payments wants to conduct a marketing and awareness campaign collaboratively with SoftPOS technology providers, merchant service providers, and acquiring entities (banks and non-banks). The goal is to increase awareness in SoftPOS, as well as promote the use of payment technology in the KSA market.


The problem we are trying to solve:
- Merchants are unaware of this solution.
- End-users may feel uncomfortable about tapping their payment card or smartphone against another person’s smartphone, rather than the trusted payment terminal they are familiar with. They are unaware that SoftPOS is secured from a legitimate provider (SP)
